The Lady Spartans collect a big win on the road over Shenandoah

Middletown- The Lady Spartans took an early four-point lead after an  Addison Jones three-point shot. The Lady Raiders came back to score on a three pointer, Abbie Schwartz then used her size advantage and hit two layups.  Hailey Sembach added a basket on an offensive rebound put back and the Lady Spartans led after the first frame 12-6. The freshman Jones started the second period with her second long ball, Sara Ruble added a three and Connersville was up 18-6 midway through the second frame. Shenandoah was finally able to stop the Connersville run with two minutes remaining.  Jones got another basket before the half, and it was 21-9 at halftime.

Schwartz collected a three-point play sinking a freebie after getting fouled to start the third frame. CHS went on a 7-0 run to open the second half before the Lady Raiders hit a three-point shot, cutting the lead to 17. Schwartz collected five more points in the frame and the Lady Spartans went into the final quarter up 36-18. A quick 11 points by CHS to start the fourth quarter put the Lady Spartans up 47-22 with four minutes go. Connersville put up 17 total points in the frame and finished with a 53-28 win to move to 2-3 on the season. CHS will travel to Centerville on Friday for a 7:30 varsity tipoff time.  Schwartz led the Lady Spartans with 15 points, followed by Jones with 14, Ruble and Sembach scored 8 each, Ahniyah Bennett finished with 4 and Jacey Wilhelm and Taylor Watkins both scored 2 points in the contest.
