Franklin County wins on the road now 5-1
Liberty- The Franklin County Lady Wildcats faced the Union County Lady Patriots in a North/South County rivalry on Friday night. The one-win Union County squad took an early lead and went up 7-6 with one minute to go in the first period. Franklin County sophomore point guard Tiffany Billman then put up five unanswered points to put her team up 11-7 after one frame. She added five more in the second fame as the Lady Cats went into halftime up 20-13. The Lady Patriots scored the only four points in the third quarter with Shelby Hill and Brooke Fields each hitting a basket. The score through three frames was Franklin County 20 Union County 17. The Lady Cats started the final period on a 6-0 run to go up by 10. UC battled back adding eight points in the frame. Franklin County held on for the five-point victory, 30-25. They move to 5-1 on the season. Billman led all scorers in the contest with 15 points, also scoring for FC, Kiersten Schell 6, Josie Rofles 3, Nicole Mears, Kassidy Schell, and Bailey kaiser all finished with two points. Franklin County will travel to Shelbyville tonight to face the Lady Golden Bears who are currently sitting at 6-0 on the season.
