Shelbyville runs away from Lady Wildcats in second quarter

The Lady Wildcats had a tough matchup Saturday evening when they faced the Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears. Shelbyville is averaging 61.5 points per game this season while allowing an average of 34.2 points allowed as they improved to 7-0 after beating Franklin County 50-31. The Lady Cats held with Shelbyville’s offense for the first frame, ending it tied 6-6. Shelbyville then pulled away going up 24-10 at the half, then going up 41-24 after the third quarter. The final frame saw FC score seven points and Shelbyville put up nine to end the game with a final score of 50-31. Franklin County was led in scoring by Kassidy Schell with 12 points, Josie Rofles 8, Tiffany Billman 5, Nicole Mears 4, Bailey Kaiser and Kiersten Schell both hit a free throw and finished with one point. The Lady Wildcats now sit at 5-2 on the season and will host a conference match up with Lawrenceburg (3-1) on Wednesday at 7:30pm, JV tips off at 6pm.
