Greensburg tops Lady Bulldogs by 19

GREENSBURG- The Greensburg Lady Pirates earned their fourth EIAC victory in a row last night over the Lady Bulldogs. The win puts Greensburg at 7-4 on the season. They will face the South Ripley Lady Raiders this afternoon in a road game.

The Lady Bulldogs fall to 4-7 on the year. They will face a 9-4 East Central team today that is riding a five-game win streak and has yet to lose an EIAC game.

The Lady Bucs jumped out to an early 7-0 lead before Batesville got on the board with a Sophie Gesell three pointer. Aly Powers and Emma McQueen both added three-points in the first period to put Greensburg up 13-7 through one quarter. The Lady Bucs extended the lead in the second frame with Leah West leading the charge. West put up 11 in the period as Greensburg went on a 13-0 run and shut out Batesville in the quarter to go into halftime up 26-7.  Alyson Peters got the Lady Dogs on the board to start the third period, Lydia Haskamp added four more points and Batesville was on a 6-0 run. Peters added three points cut the lead to 10 before Mary Harmon sank a long ball to stop the Lady Dogs run. The Lady Pirates finished the third frame outscoring BHS 7-6 and took a 36-22 lead into the fourth quarter.

The final frame was won by the Lady Pirates who outscored Batesville 12-8 in the period and took a 48-29 conference win.
