Batesville’s varsity girls’ cagers came out firing on all cylinders Thursday at the New Castle Fieldhouse, defeating the host Lady Trojans 66-52 to snap a five-game losing streak.
Senior Emma Weiler buried a three to open the contest and added back-to-back numbers from the same spot behind the arc in the second period. Clare Saner and Alyson Peters also hit from long range as BHS established a 44-3 advantage early in the second half. The lead grew to as many as 15 at 53-38.
BHS (5-8) outrebounded NC 48-20 and added 13 team assists.
The ladies are at the Waldron holiday tournament Tuesday, facing the host Lady Mohawks early in the first game. Tip is 8:30 a.m.The Ripley County Tournament starts Jan. 3 at Milan.
