Knights decimate Pacers in Rivertown round one

AURORA- Game one on the boy’s side of the Rivertown Classic featured the Switzerland County Pacers taking on the host team, the South Dearborn Knights. Ryan Willoughby got the Knights started with two baskets to begin the game, then with five minutes to go in the frame he hit another giving SD an 11-0 lead to start the game. The Pacers then went on a 7-0 run. Another field goal from each team put the score at 13-9 in favor of SD after the first period. The Knight Defense held the Pacers to just a single three-point basket in the second quarter while adding 15 to their tally. The Knights led at the half 28-12. The third frame went in SD’s favor as they outscored the Pacers 12-4, going up 40-16 with one quarter to play. SD doubled their opponents in the fourth quarter 14-7 to advance to the final with a 54-23 win. Willoughby led all scorers in the game with 22-points, also scoring for SD was Brodie Teke 8, Zander Schwab 6, Adam Kunkel 5, Hudson Shackelford 5, Reid Thornton 3, Corbin Cassidy 2, Adam Gainor 2, TJ Wissing 1.
