Franklin County claws back to win over Union County

The Franklin County Wildcats faced off with Highway 101 rival Union County on Friday. The Cats graciously hosted their Northernly neighbors and sent the Patriots home with a two-point loss. FC found themselves down going into the fourth quarter, 37-33. The Cats put up 22 fourth quarter points to earn their eighth win of the season in comeback fashion. The Wildcats led after the first period 14-8. UC then put up 16-points in the second quarter and the game was a one-point affair with FC leading 25-24 at the half. The Patriots put up 13 more points in the third period to take the lead, FC scored eight in the frame, and it was 37-33. The final quarter was a comeback for FC who scored 22 while holding the Pats to 16 and claim a 55-53 win.

The Wildcats were led by Brant Ertel with 15-points, Jace Lee scored 13-points and had 3 blocks, Landon Wuestefeld scored 12, Eli Butt scored 10 and collected 5 steals, and Quinn Gillman finished with 5.

Franklin County is now 8-3 and riding a two-game win streak. They will travel to face Hauser (4-7) Thursday evening.
