South Dearborn wins two against Oldenburg

The Oldenburg Academy Twisters visited Aurora on Thursday for a boys/girls doubleheader. The Lady Knights took on Oldenburg in first of the two games. South Dearborn had two players score 20-points (Natalie Cantrell 23, Natalie Rupp 21) on the Lady Twisters, Kiersten Dixon pitched in with 8, and Gracie Messmore finished with 5-points in the 60-48 win. The Lady Knights took a big lead early going up 23-12 after the first quarter. They led by seven at the half 30-23, the Lady Twisters pulled within four points in the third frame but by the end they led 46-38 after three frames played. SD added 14 more points in the fourth quarter while holding Oldenburg to 10. The win gives the Lady Knights a record 5-15 on the season.

The second game of the double header featured the boys in action. Ryan Willoughby led the Knights on the night with 17-points, Zander Scwab 14, Brodie Teke 13, Adam Kunkel 10, Hudson Schackelford 2, and Adam Gainer 2.

The Knights started on a 9-0 run and led after the first quarter 25-10. They held the Twisters to just five more points in the second period and led at the half 39-15. 20-points by the knights in the third period put them up 59-25. The only scoring in the final frame was three points from Oldenburg making the final score 59-25
