Lady Dogs no match for West and crew

A Saturday conference game between Greensburg and Batesville was a one-sided affair with Leah West and the Lady Pirates taking down the Lady Bulldogs 61-22. West got the Lady Bucs started scoring twice and a Mary Harmon longball put Greensburg up 7-0 within the first two minutes. Makayla Granger-Young broke the draught for BHS with a pair of free throws and Alyson Peters scored making it a 10-4 game. Aly Powers added the final two baskets in the period for Greensburg and they led 14-4 after one quarter. The Lady Bucs began the second quarter on a 14-0 run with West putting up seven of those points. With two minutes to go in the half Claire Saner finally stopped the onslaught with a basket. Greensburg added four more points and the score was 32-6 at the half.

The third quarter went the same as the rest with the Lady Pirates starting the frame on a 7-0 run before Granger-Young scored for the Lady Dogs. Marlee Obermeyer and Lexiyne Harris also scored in the quarter for BHS. after the 7-0 run Greensburg added 10 more in the frame and went into the fourth quarter up 49-14. Another eight points was scored by Batesville in the final quarter while the Lady Pirates added 11 to win the EIAC matchup by a score of 61-22.

West led Greensburg with 28 points in the contest, Harmon added 10, Carlee Adams 8, Powers 6, Sarah Stapp 5, and Emma McQueen 4.

Scoring for Batesville was Granger-Young 7, Saner 5, Harris 3, Peters 3, Obermeyer 2, Lydia Haskamp 2
