The East Central Trojans defeated Jennings County 4-1 on Friday. Eli Aston was 2 for 4 with an RBI double. Joel Richter went a solid six innings allowing just one run and Max Hotze picked up 2 K’s in his inning on the mound. EC is now 2-2 on the season.

The Trojans will face the Batesville Bulldogs this week who is 3-1 after shutting out New Palestine on Saturday. The Bulldogs Charlie Schebler pitched six shutout innings with nine strikeouts, one walk, and two hits allowed. Cade Kaiser grabbed an inning of relief work to preserve the Bulldogs 7-0 shutout. Eli Loichinger went two for four with four RBIs for BHS.

The Connersville Spartans picked up a 9-4 win over Yorktown on Saturday to improve to 2-3 on the season. Brady Cloyd scored two runs in the contest and seven other Spartans crossed the plate in the win. Chance Bentley had three RBIs, and Gavin Pearson and  Gavin Jones had two each. Cloyd was on the mound for 2.1 innings and had five strikeouts, Aaron Kidd earned the win in his three innings, and Kolton Deboard had a K in his 1.2 innings of work.

The South Dearborn Knights beat Milan 6-1 on Saturday afternoon. Max Burger singled in Ryan Willoughby and Adam Kunkel to put SD up 2-0 in the first inning. A Dylan Wynn sacrifice in the second inning scored Gabe Perry and Willoughby picked up an RBI to put SD up 4-0. Evan Johnson picked up an RBI for Milan in the fourth inning and SD added two more runs in the fifth with Burger and Willoughby crossing the plate to give SD a 6-1 win. Burger started the game and earned the win for the Knights, going three innings, retiring nine batters via strikeout. Kadence Taylor tossed three innings and Kunkel closed out the seventh inning with two strikeouts.  

SD will face the Lawrenceburg Tigers this week. LHS lost their last outing to Conner (Hebron,KY) to fall to 1-3 on the season. Lawrenceburg allowed three runs in the second inning but scored a run each in the second and third to go into the fourth inning down 3-2. JP Izzo and Nolan McLane did the scoring for the Tigers. Conner then added five runs over the next two innings and the Tigers fell by a score of 8-2. Brody Price got the start for LHS and suffered the loss. Dustin Shaw went three innings and allowed two runs for the Tigers.   

The Rushville Lions Lost on Friday to Centerville 8-7. The game was tied after seven innings at 6-6, but Centerville plated two runs in the top of the eight and the Lions only managed one run in the bottom of the frame. The 8-7 loss has the Lions at 1-3 on the season.

They will face off against the Greensburg Pirates this week starting with a home game tonight in Rushville. The Bucs had the weekend off after starting the season 3-1. Joey Everroad is leading the EIAC with two longballs this season.

The Franklin County Wildcats are 1-1 and had the weekend off after splitting games with East Central last week. Sophomore Avery Harrison leads the Cats with an ERA of 1.75 in his four innings of work this season.
