Lady Cats cruise to 5-0 after two big innings

The Lawrenceburg Lady Tigers had their hands full with Franklin County on Monday. A six-run third inning, and an eight-run fourth inning led the Lady Wildcats to a 15-2 victory. Bella Lee earned the win for Franklin County, the junior finishing with five strikeouts and just one walk.

Lawrenceburg got on the board first when Meghan Heinsman scored on a past ball in the top of the second inning. FC tied things up at one when Kiersten Schell hit a solo homer in the bottom half of the inning. The Lady Cats added six runs in the third inning. Brooke Stang singled scoring Annie Hoff, Kassidy Schell hit a sac fly to knock in Stang. Ki. Schell singled, scoring Maci Lake from second base, and Hoff singled on a 1-1 count, scoring another FC run. Kensee Ferman scored on a Josie Rolfes double, and Rolfes scored to give FC a 7-1 lead.

The Lady Cats scored eight more runs in the fourth inning led by Ferman, Rolfes, Bailey Kaiser, Hoff, Lee, and Addyson Bischoff, all driving in runs in the frame. The score after four innings was 15-1.

LHS added one more run; Maci McAdams picked up the final RBI for Lawrenceburg when she knocked in Courtney Sauntry in the fifth inning.

Franklin County racked up 10 hits on the day.  Rolfes and Ki. Schell each racked up multiple hits for Franklin County.  FC didn’t commit a single error in the field.

Ava Hall was in the pitcher’s circle for the Lady Tigers and lasted 3.1 innings, allowing two hits and five runs while striking out four.
